Keep on high December 29, 2008 The warmer works pretty well, however I suggest leaving the setting on HIGH if you have the original Honee wax. Because this wax is super thick, it likes to cool quickly. Leaving the warmer on high keeps it at the right consistency.
When I think of the money I saved! October 24, 2008 When I think of the money I saved by buying the Gigi warmer and honee wax, I get a big smile. In the first use it paid for itself and it's so easy. I bought the sticks at a craft store and cut up an old pillow case for the muslin strips. I did my brows, top and bottom, lip, cheeks and chin the first time, like a pro. There is nothing I don't like about it. You plug it in, wait for the wax to warm up and you're good to go! I love it.
great buy September 22, 2008 This warmer is user friendly and the price is right. Just be sure to drop the tub of wax in the warmer. Do not pour wax in. I would recommend this to a friend.
Item was incorrectly advertised!! September 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This warmer was incorrectly advertised, per Amazon. It stated that it could warm up a certain wax, was why I purchased it. I received it, and it does no such thing. Now, I will not be able to use it at all. I contacted the seller, and told them that; and they will not reimburse me for it at all. I am very disappointed in the purchase. I will never buy from them again.
Simple and sweet June 9, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I have been waxing myself since the last 12 years and always wanted to buy a wax warmer. Bought this product as it was on sale along with waxing strips, 14 oz wax can and a [useless] DVD. I have considerable experience in self waxing and one thing I can tell for sure is that all those other supplemental products (other than the wax itself) are just waste of money. Baby powder or any generic powder will work just as well to rid your skin of any pre-moisture. Best is to start waxing on a relaxed Sunday morning before your shower, making sure you are not too sweaty and maybe wipe your armpits etc with a dry towel before starting. Same for post-wax products. As somebody else mentioned, baby oil works very well to remove residual wax. Liberally rub baby oil all over waxed body and get into the shower. One tip for those who have been getting wax all over the place- dedicate an old bedsheet to the waxing process and spread it wide over the bathroom floor before you begin. Also, I didnt like the thin muslin strips so much as they shed a lot of thread which sticks to your fingers and is messy. I have also used strips made from old jeans legs before and these are perfect ! Cut them in 2.5" X 8" length and you're all set. For face you can use a thinner cloth. The #225 is fantastic, it keeps the wax at the perfect temperature after 30 minutes. When I used to wax using microwaveable wax, I had to run again and again to heat the wax and it took me 3 times the time to finish my waxing. With this wax warmer I am done with EVERYTHING in 1 hr max (including cleaning up). For those who are used to shaving, I would say try waxing once- you dont have to spend 15 minutes twice a week shaving yourself (which amounts to more time than waxing actually), plus waxing is soooo much smoother (NO stubble), and healthier for the skin too. AND the hair do not return all coarse and spiney. This warmer should give a good start. DO NOT pour wax directly into the metal container of the warmer. Just place the wax tin into it with the collar on the tin and remove the plastic cover of the wax tin. Wipe off the warmer surface with a cotton ball dipped in baby oil in the end to get rid of any sticky wax.
