While this is a basic overview of the functional and legal aspects of day spa startup, the book lacks some of the hard core reality of the industry. It fails to prepare aspiring non-industry owners about the mini-cultures of the employees to the industry. Knowing how to manage the sometimes conflicting cultures of estheticians, stylists, nail techs and massage therapists is a critical skill that is usually overlooked by new owners without industry experience.
